Welcome to Uneducated Investor, a site dedicated to sharing offbeat perspectives on investing and the financial markets.
I mainly write about Uranium, Coal, Oil, and Crypto. Occasionally I share investing lessons I have learned along the way.
I'm just an average person with no formal background in finance or investing. I don't have an Ivy League MBA or work on Wall Street. I'm not a certified financial advisor or stock broker. In fact, my only qualifications are a university degree in Communications and a healthy skepticism of the mainstream consensus.
But I believe an outsider perspective can provide unique insights. Big bank analysts and advisors get stuck in groupthink. Not being classically trained gives me the freedom to question assumptions and think differently. I follow my curiosity rather than stale conventional wisdom.
I try and research thoroughly before writing, but I'm also not afraid to offer half-formed ideas or play devil's advocate. You'll find me skeptical of the mainstream narrative. When everyone zigs, I prefer to zag. There's danger in blind consensus. I try to spot underappreciated opportunities and overlooked risks.
Please don't mistake my musings as professional advice. I don't claim to be an expert or have all the answers. I'm learning as I go, right alongside you.
My aim is not to predict the future or tell you what to believe, but rather to provide thought-provoking ideas that challenge you to think more deeply. If I can spur conversation, debate, and reconsideration of long-held market narratives, I've accomplished my goal.
Enter open-minded. Leave questioning. Let's reconsider investing and markets from outside the institutional bubble. In the search for truth, no view should be off limits.
